The Court of Quebec recognizes the validity of electronic signature on legal proceedings

In July 2012 by the Court of Quebec rendered a very interesting judgement on electronic signature. This case started by a refusal by a court clerk to accept a legal proceeding on the basis that the proceeding was signed electronically. The clerk interpreted the law saying that a legal proceeding has to be originally signed.

The Supreme Court of Michigan (USA) now allows the production of electronically signed documents!

On May 24th 2012, the Michigan Supreme Court (USA) approved a rule change that allows the use of electronic signatures for any document filed in the state court system, including any signature required by a law or court rule to be notarized or made under oath.
